Arrival to Ulan Bator

Welcome to Ulan Bator - the historical capital of Mongolia! Your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel for check-in. There are no activities planned for this evening, so you are welcome to dine in one of the local restaurants and try some of the traditional Mongolian delicacies, start exploring the city center on your own or just stay in your room and have a good rest before the adventures ahead.

Visiting the Gandan Monastery & Arrival to Gorkhi-Terelji National Park

After breakfast, you check out from your hotel, meet your guide, and explore the legendary Mongolian Buddhist Gandan Monastery. Then you depart from the beautiful capital of Mongolia and travel to your camp.

Upon arrival, you have lunch and proceed to the picturesque Gorkhi-Terelji National Park where you go exploring its most popular attractions, including the famous Turtle Rock and the Aryabal Temple, located on a steep hill. There is a long walking path leading to the entrance of the temple. It features 108 steep stairs, symbolizing an elephant's elongated trunk. If you want, you can go all the way up to the sacred place and enjoy the magnificent views over the surrounding valley.

In the evening you have dinner at the camp and get ready to spend a night in a traditional Mongolian yurt.

Meeting a Nomadic Family & Arrival to Ulan Bator

Following breakfast at the ger camp, you meet your guide and start the day by visiting a nomadic family to learn more about their culture, authentic lifestyle, and traditions. Then you continue to the iconic equestrian statue of Genghis Khan, located on the banks of the Tuul River.

During the tour, you enter the statue and admire its interior. Inside, you can find a replica of Genghis Khan's legendary golden whip and walk all the way up to the statue's head. At the top, you enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery.

After a break for lunch, you make your way to the famous Zaisan Hill, offering the best views of spectacular Ulan Bator, and proceed to the cashmere factory where you learn how to transfer raw materials into a thread and then into clothing.

After the tour, you are transferred to your hotel in Ulan Bator and have the rest of the day free.

Flight to Gobi Desert & Exploring Khongoryn Els

Following breakfast, you check out from your hotel and meet your private driver who transfers you to the airport. A comfortable plane takes you to the small oasis city of Dunhuang. Upon arrival, your driver-guide takes you to the amazing Khongoryn Els (also known as the "Singing Sands"), the biggest sand dunes in Mongolia.

Khongoryn Els takes the area of 965 sq km (373 sq mi) and offers some of the most striking views in the country. After exploring the massive sand dunes, you are transferred to your ger camp for overnight.

Camel Breeding Family & Trip to Flaming Cliffs

The next morning after breakfast, you pay a visit to a local camel breeding family to learn about their lifestyle. After the visit, you are driven to Bayanzag to visit its famous dinosaur excavation site, famous for being the first place where a dinosaur's egg was found. There you have a chance to admire the picturesque landscape of the area.

Out-of-this-world cliffs have been formed due to the millions of years of erosion and they offer great photo opportunities. It was American zoologist Roy Chapman Andrews who discovered this place and named Flamig Cliffs, because of the bright red color the cliffs turn at the sunset.

After the tour, you return to your camp for overnight.

  • Please, note: optionally, you can go on a 1-hour camel ride across the magnificent Gobi Desert to admire its vast natural beauty.

Trip to Yolyn Am

You spend the day exploring the Yolyn Am - a deep and narrow gorge in the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains of southern Mongolia. The name of this remarkable place is often translated as the Valley of the Vultures or the Valley of the Eagles.

During the tour, you admire the natural beauty of the Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, its unique structures and formations. Also, the breathtaking valley is among the best places to explore the wildlife of the region and a great spot to look for the Golden Eagles, the vultures, and the wild Agrli sheep. As a special treat, you have a picnic right in the park.

After the tour, you return to your camp.

Flight to Ulan Bator | City Tour & Folk Show

Following breakfast, you are transferred to the airport for your flight back to the amazing capital of Mongolia. Upon arrival, your driver meets you at the airport and takes you to the hotel for check-in. Then you meet your guide in the hotel lobby and go on a walking city tour, covering the most interesting attractions of Ulan Bator.

During your walk, you visit the National Museum of Mongolia, one of the leading museums in the whole country, responsible for preserving the Mongolian cultural heritage. You also stroll along the main streets of the city, see the Parlament house, and walk through the central Sukhbaatar Square, formerly known as the Genghis Khan Square. After the tour, you return to your hotel where you can have some rest or go exploring the city on your own.

In the evening, you attend an amazing Mongolian folk show at the State National Song and Dance Academic Ensemble of Mongolia (transfers are included). After the show, you have your evening at leisure.
