Day-by-Day

Day 1
Arrival in Lisbon

Today you arrive in the glorious capital of Portugal - Lisbon! Upon arrival, your driver meets you and takes you to your downtown hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free for you relax or start exploring the abundant heritage left here almost intact from one of the world's greatest empires in history!

In the evening, you are treated to a welcome drink during your meeting with a local guide.

Day 2
Exploring the Highlights of Lisbon

After breakfast, you meet your guide and enjoy a panoramic walking sightseeing tour of Lisbon.

During the tour, you see the most famous attractions, including Restauradores Square with the Obelisk commemorating the Restoration of Portugal’s independence from Spain in 1640.

You take a funicular up to the Bairro Alto and admire the view of the Mouraria district and the Sao Jorge Castle, the charming neighborhood of Chiado abundant in old cafés, shops and theaters.

Then you proceed to Baixa including Rossio Square, where you learn how the city was destroyed in 1755 by a massive earthquake, and then totally rebuilt to become the city of today. Continue to Alfama Lisbon’s oldest district to admire Se Cathedral - the city’s oldest church and Commerce Square before returning back to Hotel and have the rest of the day free.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 3
Visit to the Belem Quarter & Trip to Sintra

Following breakfast, you meet your guide and driver. Together you proceed to the Belem Quarter, where you admire the Jerónimos Monastery (from the outside). You also make photo stops at the ancient Belem Tower and Monument to the Discoverers.

Then you continue your journey on an exciting day-trip to one of Portugal's most beautiful destinations - Sintra, that is famous for its fairy-tale castles and beautiful scenery.

Upon arrival, you have some free time for lunch (not included) and then visit the fairytale Pena Palace with a round trip shuttle bus (up to the Pena Palace).

After the tour, you are transferred back to your hotel in Lisbon. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 4
Train Ride to Porto & Port Wine Tasting

In the morning following breakfast, you check-out from your hotel and meet your guide and driver. You are taken to the train station where you take a train to Porto - the romantic second-largest city in Portugal (train tickets are included).

In about three hours, you arrive in the city, where your driver and guide meet you at the train station in Porto. Together you start a welcome walking tour from Palacio da Bolsa to Luis I Bridge. As a highlight of your introduction to Porto, you walk to a winery for port wine tasting.

You are then taken to your centrally located hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free.

Day 5
Exploring the Highlights of Porto

After breakfast, you meet your guide who takes you on an exhilarating walking tour of Porto's main landmarks.

Located along the Douro river estuary in northern Portugal, Porto encompasses one of the oldest European town centers which is in fact registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The first stop of your tour is the iconic Lello Bookshop, the oldest bookshop in Portugal. This bookshop was often visited by J.K.Rowling when she taught English in Porto. During the tour you also admire the most iconic city monuments, including the railway station of Sao Bento, the Porto Cathedral and San Francisco Church.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 6
Braga & Guimaraes Old Town Sightseeing Tours & Flight to Barcelona

Following breakfast your guide and driver take you to Minho - the greenest region of Portugal, famous for its amazing landscapes, wonderful cultural heritage, and authentic handicrafts, which make Minho a region with a very unique personality full of traditions.

Upon arrival in the capital of the region - the ancient city of Braga, you visit its 11th century Braga Cathedral (entrance tickets are included) and admire the impressive Sanctuary of Bom Jesus. You then take a trip to the cradle of Portugal - the medieval city of Guimaraes, where you explore its UNESCO-listed Old Town and visit its famous Palace of the Dukes (entrance tickets are included). After the tour your driver takes you to the airport for your flight to Barcelona.

Welcome to the lively capital of Catalonia! Your driver meets you at the exit gates of the airport holding a sign with your name on it and transfers you to your centrally located hotel for check in.

Day 7
Tour of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter

After breakfast, your guide meets you in the hotel lobby and takes you on a wonderful half-day walking tour around the most outstanding attractions of Barcelona.

Barcelona obtains one of the biggest and architecturally diverse Medieval districts in Europe. During the city tour, you get to see Barcelona's Old Town called "Casc Antic" and its medieval landmarks.

You walk through the maze of old narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter that was formed around the Roman forum. Then you see the Barcelona Cathedral both from the outside and the inside, pass the former Jewish District "Call", the Sant Jaume Square, see the Generalitat Palace and City Hall from the outside, pass the Square of the King and the former Royal Palace.

You then proceed to the Ribera shore district where you see the Santa Maria del Mar church - the former residence of sailors, traders and craftsmen who lived and worked there in the Middle Ages. The tour finishes on the most vivid street in Barcelona La Rambla, where you can take a rest at one of the open air terraces.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 8
Gaudi Tour & Train to San Sebastian

Following breakfast, you meet your guide and driver and enjoy a fantastic sightseeing tour dedicated to the world-renowned architectural works of Antonio Gaudi.

You start with a visit to the colorful Park Guell, where you spend some time strolling through its mosaic paths and enjoying the great city views.

The day is crowned with a visit to the astonishing Sagrada Familia Basilica - the most brilliant masterpiece of Gaudi that is rightfully considered the most recognizable symbol of Barcelona.

After the tour, you have a transfer directly to the railway station for a high-speed train ride to San Sebastian (first class tickets are included).

Upon arrival, you are transferred to your downtown hotel.

Day 9
San Sebastian City Tour

After breakfast, you have a sightseeing tour of the city. During the tour you see the Kursaal Palace area, the historic Cathedral area and one of the most-visited tourist sites - Santa Maria del Coro's Basilica, an 18 century baroque church built on the site of an ancient Roman temple. You then proceed to the local market and shopping area, see the Old Town, the port and the bay of La Concha.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 10
Rioja Wine Tour & Visit to Laguardia

Following breakfast, you check-out from the hotel and have a day trip to Rioja region to visit a couple of traditional wineries, producing the world famous Rioja wine under the local wine appellation in La Rioja Alta and La Rioja Alavesa. You have a guided tour in each winery with tastings.

Later, you proceed to the region through the vineyards stopping at the medieval village of Laguardia for a guided tour. You get to enjoy the magnificent modern architecture of the most famous wineries in the area.

After the tour, you are transferred to your Bilbao hotel for check-in. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11
Bilbao City Tour

After breakfast, you meet your experienced guide who takes you on a fantastic sightseeing tour around the city's most interesting landmarks.

During the tour, you see the Guggenheim-Bilbao museum (from the outside), explore the Casco Viejo - Old Town made up by the city's 7 calles - streets that are the origins of Bilbao, pass the beautiful Cathedral of Santiago, and enjoy the views of the Yohn's Palace or the Arriaga theater - named in honor of the "Spanish Mozart".

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 12
Departure from Bilbao

This is the final day of your amazing journey! After breakfast, your driver transfers you to the airport for your flight back home. We wish you a safe flight and hope to work on your future trips!
