Day-by-Day

Day 1
Arrival in Stockholm

Welcome to the fabulous capital of Sweden - Stockholm! Your private driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your centrally located hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free to start exploring Stockholm attractions on your own, dine in a local restaurant or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

Day 2
Stockholm City Tour

Following breakfast you meet your guide and enjoy a 3-hour walking city tour around the most interesting attractions of Stockholm.

During the tour you explore the brilliant Old Town of Stockholm that is one of the biggest and most well-preserved medieval Old Towns in Europe and see the famous Royal Palace, the Stockholm Cathedral and the City Hall. Transportation is not included, public transport or taxi, if needed, should be paid on spot.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free to explore Stockholm on your own or enjoy one of our optional evening recommendations.

  • Recommended dinner: Dinner at a specialized Viking restaurant Aifur with authentic atmosphere and menu.

Day 3
Skansen and Vasa Museum

In the morning after breakfast your driver and guide take you to the Skansen Museum - the world's first open-air museum founded in 1891, that demonstrates the country's life before the industrial era. During the tour you take a fascinating journey through the five centuries of Swedish history, see the large collection of traditional rural houses and visit the museum’s zoo that represents about 75 different species of both domestic and wild Scandinavian animals, including brown bears, seals, lynx and wolverines.

Later you walk to the nearby Vasa Museum rated as the most visited museum in entire Scandinavia. This museum is famous for being home to the only intact 17th-century ship in the world - the Vasa. Sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 and salvaged only 333 years later, it managed to preserve more than 95 percent of its body in original state.

  • Optional lunch: Lunch at the Vasa Museum next to the 17th-century ship.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free (transfer to the hotel is not included).

Day 4
Trip to Sigtuna & Uppsala

After breakfast you meet your guide and driver and have a short ride to the authentic medieval towns of Uppsala and Sigtuna.

During your 6-hour sightseeing tour you explore all major cultural treasures of these beautiful cities and enjoy their unique atmosphere and amazing charm.

After the tour you are transferred back to your hotel in Stockholm.

Day 5
Ferry Trip to Birka

Today prepare for an unforgettable group day tour. After breakfast you go to the pier where you board a ferry that takes you to an archeological site of the former Viking town of Birka (round ferry tickets are included).

Located nearby Stockholm, it is the oldest settlement in Sweden included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Here you can feel like traveling back in time to the Viking Era!

Upon arrival you enjoy a wonderful guided tour around this beautiful island with a historical landscape, that includes access to the museum and visit to the ancient fields of Birka.

  • Note: The tour is available from May 10 till September 20.

After the tour you return to Stockholm by ferry.

Day 6
Visby City Tour

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver transfers you to the port for a ferry trip to Sweden's largest island, Gotland, and its UNESCO-listed medieval city of Visby (ferry tickets are included).

Upon arrival to Visby you are transferred to your hotel to leave your luggage. You then meet your guide at the hotel lobby and go on a 3-hour walking tour around the most interesting attractions of Visby.

During the tour you visit the beautiful Santa Maria Cathedral, take a walk at the Botanical Garden that is one of the most picturesque gardens in Sweden and explore the best preserved medieval city wall in the entire Scandinavia.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 7
Gothenburg City Tour

Following breakfast you check out from your hotel in Visby. You have a quick flight from the local airport (flight duration: 30 minutes) to the charming port city - Gothenburg (flight tickets are included).

Upon arrival your driver transfers you to your centrally located hotel to leave your luggage.

You then meet your guide at the hotel lobby and go on a 3-hour sightseeing tour around the most famous Gothenburg attractions.

During the tour you explore the old Haga district, visit the famous Fish Market, see the modern Opera House and the Maritime Center (no entrances included) and take a walk at the famous Avenue abundant in cozy restaurants, cafes and pubs.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 8
Trip to Malmo & Free Day for Optional Heritage Activities

After breakfast you check out from your hotel and walk to the train station where you board a train that takes you to Sweden’s third-largest city - Malmo (train tickets are included). Upon arrival you get to your hotel for check-in.

Upon arrival your driver meets you on the platform and transfers you to your hotel to leave your luggage. The rest of the day is free for you to start exploring one of the most advanced cities in Scandinavia on your own.

  • Recommended evening activity: Visit to the Lilla Torg
    This marketplace is a popular local meeting point and one of the coziest places in the city, offering a wide variety of restaurants and cafes.
  • Note for Heritage tours: If you're traveling to Sweden with our Heritage program, talk to your destination specialist about available Heritage activities. We will be happy to arrange a visit to the archives where you can track back your family tree.

Day 9
Malmo Walking Tour

Following breakfast you meet your guide at the hotel lobby and go on a 3-hour walking city tour of Malmo that provides you with a great opportunity to experience the best this city has to offer.

During the tour you explore the beautiful Old Town with its iconic Stortoget Square, enjoy the views of the legendary Oresund Bridge that connects Denmark and Sweden, and see one of Scandinavia’s tallest skyscrapers - the Turning Torso.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 10
Departure from Stockholm

This is the last day of your amazing Sweden adventure! After breakfast you check out from your hotel and your driver transfers you to the train station where you board a train that takes you to Stockholm (train tickets are included). Upon arrival to Stockholm your driver takes you to the airport for your flight back home. We wish you a safe flight and hope to work on your future trips!

  • Departure option: Departure from Copenhagen
    After breakfast you are transferred to the Copenhagen Airport that is the nearest to Malmo. Contact your travel specialist if you would like to plan your departure from Copenhagen.
