Arrival

Welcome to St. Petersburg - the Venice of the North! Upon arrival, you are met by your private driver, who transfers you to the hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free to relax in your cozy room, dine in one of the nearby restaurants or start exploring the amazing city center on your own.

St. Petersburg City Tour, Faberge Museum & Boat Ride

After breakfast, you meet your guide in the hotel lobby and go on an amazing panoramic city tour around the most cherished gems of St. Petersburg, including Nevsky Prospekt, St. Isaak's Cathedral, Peter and Paul Fortress, and Faberge Museum.

One of the places you enter today is St. Isaac's Cathedral, which dominates the St. Petersburg skyline and opens outstanding city views. Its lush interiors and golden dome are awe-inspiring. 

You have a photo stop at the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, which stands where Russia's great emperor Alexander II was mortally wounded.

You also visit the Peter and Paul Fortress - a burial place of almost all the Russian emperors and empresses from Peter the Great to Nicholas II and his family.  

After lunch in a local restaurant, the guide takes you to one of the most beautiful palaces in St. Petersburg - the Shuvalov Palace located on the Fontanka River to show you the world's largest collection of works by Carl Faberge, including nine of the famous Imperial Easter Eggs, considered not only fine jeweled works of art, but also unique historical artifacts.

You end the tour on a high note, having a private boat ride on the city's romantic canals.

After the tour, you return to the hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Tour of the Hermitage Museum, Embarkation & Folk Show

Following breakfast, you check-out from the hotel, meet your guide in the lobby and go to the legendary Hermitage Museum to see its unique collection of world art.

During the tour, you visit the Winter Palace halls to explore the Hermitage's main collection, including the masterpieces of Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, El Greco, and many others. The main tour is followed by a visit to one of the most impressive corners of the museum - the Diamond Room.

You then cross the Palace square to enter the General Staff Building, which houses Hermitage's superb collection of Modern European Art, primarily consisting of the world-famous French impressionist and post-impressionist paintings.

After the tour, you are taken to the cruise terminal and board the luxurious Mustai Karim ship where you settle in, relax and get ready for an exciting evening in the city - the Russian Folk Show.

Trip to Peterhof and Departure

After breakfast, you meet your guide at the port and travel to the outskirts of St. Petersburg to explore the former summer residence of Russian tsars and the gem of palace architecture - Peterhof.

During the tour, you visit the famous Bath Cottage and take a walk in the beautiful Lower Park, lavishly adorned with 176 fountains of various forms and styles and numerous gilded statues of ancient gods and heroes.

After the tour, we invite you for a coffee break with a traditional Russian treat. You then have a unique hydrofoil ride back to St. Petersburg.

Upon returning to the city, you are taken to your cruise ship and have the rest of the day at leisure.

In the evening, MS Mustai Karim departs for Valaam.

Look out of the cabin window - you'll be captured by a picturesque view of the fabulous fields, wooden houses, and craft shops! Are we in medieval Russia? You're almost right - we moored in Mandrogi! Located on the sprawling banks of the Svir River, the village of Mandrogi gives the impression of a medieval settlement. However, it was built relatively not long ago – at the end of the last century. The village was created with potential travelers in mind, offering many interactive experiences in craft houses, with the most popular being the visit to the Museum of Vodka. Here you can find out more about Russian drinking culture and feel close to the authentic peasant culture.

Goritsy is a village in the Kirillovsky district of the Vologda region. It is located 130 kilometers from Vologda, on the left bank of the Sheksna River, 30 km from its source-White Lake. The village of Goritsy was first mentioned in written sources under the name of Devichya Gora in the XVI century. The current name is associated with the abundance of mountains in the vicinity of the village. The most famous is Mount Maura, located above a number of Goritsa. In 1544, the Resurrection Goritsky Monastery was founded in the village, the appearance of which is associated with Mount Maura.

Exploring Goritsy

Today, after crossing the Volga-Baltic Canal, you head to Goritsy-a village in the Kirillovsky district of the Vologda region. The village of Goritsy was first mentioned in written sources of the XVI century under the name "Maiden Mountain." Goritsy is famous for its' rich Russian cultural heritage: an incredible number of religious architecture monuments and medieval monasteries amaze the imagination! By the way, you have an excellent opportunity to visit one of them after disembarkation.

Our next berth is located in the ancient Russian town – Uglich. The most famous page of its' chronicle is the murder of Tsarevich Dmitry – Ivan the Terrible's son: the walls of the local Kremlin still guard the secrets of this tragedy. During your tour around Uglich, you step inside the Church of Tsarevich Dmitry, where you enjoy the subtleties of the tsarist epoche architecture, and admire the age-old Orthodox culture.

Arrival in Moscow

You spend this day on board the ship on the way to the capital of Russia - Moscow (breakfast and lunch onboard).

Early in the evening you disembark the ship. Your guide and driver meet you at the port and take you to the centrally-located hotel for check-in. 

The rest of the evening is free to spend at leisure.  You can dine in one of the nearby restaurants and start exploring the amazing city center on your own. We recommend taking a walk around the Kremlin, finding a table at the "Bratya Karavaevy" coffee shop, and enjoying a cup of tea with the traditional cabbage pie.

Moscow City Tour & Visit to the Tretyakov Gallery

Following breakfast, you meet your guide in the hotel lobby and have a transfer to the world-famous treasure trove of Russian fine art, the Tretyakov Gallery, where you have an amazing time viewing the gems of its collection, including the famous masterpieces of Ivan Aivazovsky, Mikhail Vrubel, and Viktor Vasnetsov.

We hope you are hungry because it's lunchtime! After a delicious Russian meal, your guide takes you to the breathtaking Red Square, where you discover the colorful St. Basil's Cathedral from the outside as well as the inside. After the tour, you are taken back to your hotel and have the rest of the day at your leisure.

Visiting the Kremlin & Armoury Chamber

This day is dedicated to exploring one of the most outstanding icons of the Russian capital - the Kremlin and its Armoury. Following breakfast, you meet your guide in the hotel lobby and walk to the metro station, where you take a short ride towards the Kremlin territory. Round-trip subway tickets are included.

Once on the Kremlin territory, you have a chance to explore the gems hidden behind the Kremlin walls such as the Cathedral Square and the Assumption and Annunciation cathedrals. 

Another highlight is a visit to the famous Armoury Chamber that houses a unique collection of crown jewels, stunning coronation finery, hand-forged armor and weapons, royal carriages and sleighs, and world-famous Fabergé eggs.

After the tour your guide takes you to the subway station for a quick train ride back to the hotel.

This is the final day of your amazing Moscow - St. Petersburg cruise. After breakfast, you check out from your hotel, and your private driver takes you to the airport for your flight back home.
