Day-by-Day

Day 1
Arrival in Venice

Welcome to Venice - one of the most charming cities of Italy. Upon arrival, you are met by your driver at the airport who transfers you to the hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax after the trip.

Day 2
Venice Sightseeing

After breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide in the lobby and enjoy a wonderful walking city tour of all the must-see places of Venice.

We have carefully chosen the stops on this tour to give you a real insight into the city. You see the Rialto Bridge (and Rialto fish market), walk past the quiet streets, peaceful canals and go beyond the areas that visitors usually see. This is where Venice is hiding its best architecture and secret stories – and that’s what we’re out to explore.

Among many sights you discover are the iconic St. Mark's Basilica, where you see the astonishing Pala D'Oro altar. You go up to Loggia dei Cavalli to enjoy the best panoramic views of St. Mark's Square.

Next on your list is the tour of the Doges Palace that includes crossing the Bridge of Sighs, visiting the old prisons and lushly decorated chambers of the Palace.

After the tour return to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure or may go on an optional gondola ride.

Day 3
Free Day in Venice, Train to Florence

The first half of the day is free for you to enjoy and explore Venice on your own. Alternatively, you can take one of the short optional day trips to nearby places.

In the afternoon at 4 pm your driver picks you up from the hotel and transfers you to the railway station. Upon arrival to Florence in about 2 hours you are taken to your downtown hotel for check-in. The rest of the evening is free.

Day 4
Florence Sightseeing

After breakfast in your hotel, meet with your guide and go on a comprehensive walking tour of Florence's highlights.

Today's program includes visits to the Duomo with its famous Bell-tower and its Baptistery dedicated to St. John the Baptist. As you proceed to the main square of the city - Piazza della Repubblica - you pass by the touristic area of the Strozzi Palace a bustling shopping street, via Tornabuoni.

Then you enter in Oltrarno where you see numerous local craftsmen shops and beautiful Santo Spirito Church and Convent, built for the Agostinian monks. In this very part of the city you can find the first official work of Michelangelo dating back to the age when he was 17 years old. We also visit the Galleria dell'Accademia to see the famous Michelangelo's statue David as well before ending the tour on the Ponte Vecchio.

After the tour you return to your hotel and enjoy evening at your own leisure.

Day 5
Optional Cooking Class & Evening Wine Tasting

Today is free for you to savor magnificent Florence on your own or join our carefully planned optional market tour and a cooking class with a Tuscan chef.

In the evening meet your fellow travelers for a wine tasting organized for your small group. Enjoy a tasting of 3 different wines selected by the sommelier and paired with snacks.

Day 6
Optional Uffizi Gallery Tour & Train to Rome

The first part of the day today is free for you to explore Florence on your own or join our carefully planned optional tour to the Uffizi Gallery.

In the afternoon you meet your driver in the hotel lobby for a transfer to the rail station to board a train to Rome. An hour and a half later you arrive in the Italian capital. Your driver meets you and takes you to your downtown hotel for check-in.

Day 7
Vatican Sightseeing & Highlights of Rome

In the morning after breakfast meet your guide to explore the Vatican and the major highlights of Rome in about 6 hours. 

First you head to a walled enclave and the world’s smallest independent state - Vatican*. When inside the Vatican, you visit private apartments of Julius II, Pinecone Courtyard, Gallery of the Maps, Gallery of the Tapestries and Gallery of Candelabra.

Next you proceed to the Sistine Chapel, where you have enough time to admire Michelangelo's famous frescoes and learn about the intense relationship between Pope Julius II and Michelangelo that drove the artist to create the greatest work of art the world has ever known.

Your tour continues in the vast open spaces of St. Peter’s Basilica where you see a stunning Pieta - a world-famous work of Renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo, and Bernini's impressive Papal Canopy, a legacy left to the Basilica by the Barberini family.

The ending point of your Vatican tour is St. Peter’s Square, where you can admire Michelangelo's Dome and the gorgeous colonnades designed by Bernini.

After that you are transferred to the heart of Rome to see the most famous attractions and hidden treasures of the Eternal City. You see the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers, as well as witness the masterpieces by Bernini, Borromini and many others.

*Please note: the Vatican is a sacred religious site thus the dress code for visiting it is applied just as when you visit any church in Italy: no shorts – no uncovered knees and shoulders, no backpacks

Day 8
Colosseum & Roman Forum

After breakfast in your hotel, meet with your private guide and go to the very heart of Rome. Today in about 4 hours you discover the famous ancient treasures of the Eternal City.

Your first stop today is the iconic Roman Forum, situated on low ground between the Palatine and Capitoline hills, it was the key political, ritual, and civic center of ancient Rome and can be traced 3 thousand years back. Today you can see columns and remains of ancient temples, arches and buildings, such as the Temple of Caesar and the Arch of Septimius Severus, as well as the adjacent Palatine Hill, which was the site of the city’s first settlements.

Another place you discover today is Rome's hallmark site - the Colosseum. Originally known by the name of Flavius amphitheater, it was the biggest and most imposing building of its kind in the Roman world, designed as an arena for the fights of Roman gladiators and could hold up to 70 thousand spectators.

After the tour your guide takes you back to the hotel and you have the evening at leisure.

Day 9
Free Day in Rome

Today is reserved for you to explore and enjoy Rome on your own. After breakfast, you can do some independent sightseeing, shop for souvenirs or have a good rest.

We suggest visiting the Opera Theater, the Modern Art Gallery - Galleria Nazionale d'Arte or the Galleria Borghese or joining our carefully planned optional tour.

Day 10
Pompeii and Amalfi Coastal Exploration

Following breakfast, you check-out from the hotel in Rome and your driver takes you to the rail station to board the train to Naples.

Upon arrival, your guide and driver take you on a full-day scenic sightseeing trip to Sorrento. On the way, you have a tour of the Pompeii and experience the breathtaking beauty of the Amalfi Coast and the surrounding area. You also discover the picturesque towns of Positano, Ravello and Amalfi from a local perspective, and take in the local history and culture.

After the tour, you are transferred to the hotel on Amalfi coast (or Sorrento).

Day 11
Free Day in Sorrento or Optional Tours

Today following breakfast at your hotel you have free day to enjoy fascinating Sorrento at your leisure. You can join our carefully planned optional tour.

Day 12
Free Day in Sorrento

Today following breakfast at your hotel you have free day to continue exploring Sorrento on your own. You can join optional gasrtonomic full-day tour.

Day 13
Flight to Madrid

After breakfast you check-out from the hotel and your driver transfers you to the Naples Airport for your flight to your next destination.

Welcome to the capital of Spain and one of the most beautiful cities in the world - Madrid! Upon arrival your driver meets you at the airport and transfers you to your downtown hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is free so you can start exploring the magnificent old town on your own, dine in one of the authentic local restaurants or take a good rest in your comfortable room.

Day 14
Madrid Old Town Tour

Following breakfast, you meet your guide and enjoy a fascinating walking sightseeing tour around the most brilliant attractions of Madrid de los Austrias - the amazing old town of the Spanish capital that treasures historical monuments dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries when Spain was ruled by the House of the Hapsburgh.

During the tour, you take a walk around Plaza de Oriente, enter the gorgeous Royal Palace called Palacio Real, see the beautiful exteriors of the Catedral Nuestra Senora de la Almudena and stroll through Major Street.

Next, you proceed to Plaza de la Villa, stop by St. Michel's Market and walk down the picturesque Cava de San Miguel. Your tour finishes at iconic Plaza Mayor and breathtaking Puerta del Sol.

After the touring is over, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 15
Visit to Prado Museum & Train to Barcelona

In the morning after breakfast you check out from the hotel. Together with your guide you go on a walking tour to discover Madrid of the Bourbons - the historical area around the Prado Museum.

During the tour you pass the Parque del Retiro, Puerta de Alcala, Plaza Cibeles, and three monumental fountains: Cibeles, Apolo and Neptuno. Next you proceed to the Spanish Parliament building, see the Atocha train station and explore the area of the Golden Triangle of Art made up of three most important art museums of Madrid - the Prado, the Thyssen-Bornemitza and the Reina Sofia.

The highlight of the tour is a visit to one of the world's greatest art galleries and Madrid's top cultural sight - the Prado Museum. This venue houses a unique collection of Spanish fine art displayed in the halls and rooms of this 18th-century Neo-Classical building. You see the most significant gems of the museum's collection, including the famous masterpieces of El Greco, Velazquez, Goya, Raphael and Rubens.

After the tour you are transferred to the railway station to board your train to Barcelona. Upon arrival you are taken to your centrally-located hotel and have a free evening in the capital of Catalonia.

Day 16
Tour of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter

After breakfast, your guide meets you in the hotel lobby and takes you on a wonderful half-day walking tour around the most outstanding attractions of Barcelona.

Barcelona obtains one of the biggest and architecturally diverse Medieval districts in Europe. During the city tour, you get to see Barcelona's Old Town called "Casc Antic" and its medieval landmarks.

You walk through the maze of old narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter that was formed around the Roman forum. Then you see the Barcelona Cathedral both from the outside and the inside, pass the former Jewish District "Call", the Sant Jaume Square, see the Generalitat Palace and City Hall from the outside, pass the Square of the King and the former Royal Palace.

You then proceed to the Ribera shore district where you see the Santa Maria del Mar church - the former residence of sailors, traders and craftsmen who lived and worked there in the Middle Ages. The tour finishes on the most vivid street in Barcelona La Rambla, where you can take a rest at one of the open air terraces.

After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 17
Gaudi Tour

After breakfast you meet your guide and driver and enjoy a fantastic sightseeing tour dedicated to the world-renowned architectural works of Antonio Gaudi.

You start with a visit to the colorful Park Guell, where you spend some time strolling through its mosaic paths and enjoying the great city views.

The day is crowned with a visit to the astonishing Sagrada Familia Basilica - the most brilliant masterpiece of Gaudi that is rightfully considered the most recognizable symbol of Barcelona.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free.

Day 18
Departure

This is the final day of your amazing journey! After breakfast your driver transfers you to the airport for your flight back home. We wish you a safe flight and hope to work on your future trips!

  • You can expect to find some shops and restaurants closed from 1-4 p.m. as it is "Riposo" time, Italy’s midday siesta. Most places will be also closed on Sundays
