Day-by-Day

Day 1

Welcome to Palermo - the stunning capital of Sicily. Upon arrival, you are met by your private driver at the airport, who transfers you to the hotel for check-in.

The rest of the day is at your own leisure to relax after the trip.

No meals included.

Day 2
Day Trip to Erice

Following breakfast you meet with your private guide-driver and embark on a day tour to the Segesta, with its best-preserved Doric Temple, and the unforgettable medieval hilltop town of Erice.

Segesta once has been the most important regional town and trading center, and now it treasures two Classical monuments which you visit: the Temple of Segesta and the Greek theatre.

Then you proceed to Erice, a wonderfully preserved town offering the most breathtaking views and a palpable sense of history. Together with your guide you discover the city's treasures. Erice boasts 60 churches, some dating back to the early 1300's, and two incredible castles, Pepoli Castle and Venus Castle. During the tour of Erice you visit the Chiesa Matrice church.

One more highlight today is a visit to the local pasticceria for a tasting of the famous cannoli, Sicilian cassata, almond pastries and other delicious culinary masterpieces. This unique pasticceria is famous for its traditions and amazing taste of its sweets all around Italy and even beyond.

After the tour you return to your hotel in Palermo and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Breakfast and pastries tasting included.

Day 3
Palermo City Tour & Optional Tour to Monreale

After breakfast you meet with your private guide to enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Palermo.

The capital of Sicily - Palermo - has been a crossroads for cultures and civilizations for 8 millennia. Together with your private guide you start the tour at the Norman Palace and the Palatine Chapel.

Then you walk along Villa Bonanno to the Cathedral in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, just to admire the exterior; continue along Vittorio Emanuele to the imposing Four Corners. Then on to the Tuscan fountain in Piazza Pretoria and just behind it see two splendid Arabo-Norman churches, La Martorana and San Cataldo.

After the tour you return to the hotel. You have rest of the day free to enjoy Palermo on your own or join our carefully planned optional tour to Monreale.

  • Optional tour: Monreale Sightseeing Tour, Palermo
Enhance your trip with a guided day trip to Monreale. This is the town where Arab-Norman art and architecture reached their apogee.

Breakfast is included.

Day 4
Day Tour to Monreale, Cefalu and Transfer to Agrigento

The first half of the day is free for you to enjoy and explore Palermo on your own. Alternatively, you can enjoy the carefully planned optional tour.

  • Optional tour: Palermo Street Food Tour, Palermo
Highlight your time in Palermo with a half day street food tour. Your experienced guide takes you to the local market where you dive in the atmosphere of traditions and delight yourself with the tastiest Sicilian dishes.

In the afternoon you are transferred to Agrigento where you check-in at your charming hotel and have the evening at leisure.

Breakfast is included.

Day 5
Valley of the Temples & Scala dei Turchi Cliffs

Today after a delicious breakfast at the hotel you spend the day with your private guide exploring famous Agrigento sights and its surroundings.

You tour begins with one of the two highlights of the city - the splendid Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You then continue to the near-intact Temple of Concord, the best-preserved temple in the world and one of the symbols of Sicily.

In the second part of the day enjoy a trip to the seaside to see the famous Scala dei Turchi Cliffs. The dazzling chalky white rocky cliff eroded conveniently into stairs rises 50 meters above sea level. This natural phenomenon so-called "Stairs of the Turks" allows for easy walking. Its gleaming color is eye-catching enough, but what makes it even more remarkable is that it looks like a staircase carved by man even though its shape is entirely natural.

After the tour you return to your hotel and have the evening at leisure.

Breakfast is included.

Day 6
Villa Romana del Casale & Transfer to Taormina

In the morning after breakfast you check-out and your private driver meets you at the hotel lobby for the trip to Taormina.

Along the way, we have arranged a stop to see the hidden gems of Sicily - Piazza Armerina and visit the Villa Romana del Casale. This is a must-see site included in the UNESCO World Heritage list for the richness and artistic quality of its mosaics.

Upon arrival you check-in at your hotel and have rest of the day free to enjoy Taormina on your own.

Breakfast is included.

Day 7
Sightseeing of Taormina

In the morning after breakfast at the hotel meet your private local guide. Together you take off to see the highlights of Taormina.

During the tour you stroll along the main street, Corso Umberto I, and visit the Greco-Roman Theater that has Etna as its backdrop.

After the tour you return to the hotel. You have rest of the day free to enjoy Taormina on your own, spend time on the beach, dine in one of the local restaurants overlooking the bay.

Breakfast is included.

Day 8
Day Trip to Mount Etna

In the morning after breakfast at the hotel meet your private local driver and set off on a day trip to one of the most famous Sicily attractions - Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe.

Your driver takes you to an access point - the Rifugio Sapienza on the southern slope located 2,000 meters (6562 feet) above sea level. Here you take a walk to visit the "Silvestri" craters and the latest new lava flows and craters from 2001-2003 and enjoy the desert moon atmosphere!

On the way down you also visit a local winery and taste local Etna wine.

Once your visit to Mount Etna is over you return to your Taormina hotel.

Breakfast is included.

We enjoyed the guided tours because all the views were really great and the buildings so old. The sites were a bit crowded but still ...
